OFFER MAY CONFERENCES DVD'S ARE
COMING
The content of our May
2007 Provider Conference and Patient Conference is
in the process of being put on DVD’s that will be
made available through our website,
www.offerutah.org, and at our OFFER EDUCATION
MEETINGS. Although the Provider Conference
information is very technical, it does present some
of the latest treatment methods and clinical trials
that have been pursued. The presentations are
wide-ranging and cover landmark work in Fibromyalgia
and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Our Provider
Conference presented an exciting picture of the
strides in understanding that have been made since
our 2005 conference. This should be a time of hope
for those who have suffered from CFS and FMS. These
materials will start to be available within the next
couple of months.
"When
you get into a tight place and everything goes
against you, till it seems as though you could not
hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for
that is just the place and time that the tide will
turn."

IACFS CONFERENCE SUMMARY
By Anthony
Komaroff, M.D.
Professor of
Medicine, Harvard Medical School
This excellent 15 minute summary of this landmark conference is
best viewed by using Internet Explorer. This
presentation is technical and is for the medical
providers and researchers in the field, but because
it is a brief summary, is relatively
easy to follow. It will give the lay person an idea
of the excitement in the CFS and FMS research
community. The link is

Dr. Lucinda
Bateman is actively seeking Fibromyalgia
patients, ages 18-70, to participate in
clinical research studies of three
investigational drugs for the treatment of
Fibromyalgia. If you are interested, call
Dr. Bateman’s office (801-359-7400) and talk
to Ali Allen, RN, research coordinator, or
others on the research team, to learn more
about the drug studies currently underway.
Qualified participants receive study-related
physician visits, lab evaluations, and the
investigational medication at no cost.
