Educator/Administrator
Paul Shepherd
has been an educator in Granite School District for 25 years.
He has served as a classroom teacher, curriculum specialist,
elementary school principal, and director for the Planning and
Boundaries department. He has a B.S. in elementary education,
a M.Ed. in education, and is currently completing his dissertation
for an E.Ed. at the University of Utah.
Paul has
served a term in the House of Representatives in the Utah State
Legislature. He is the current president for the Utah
Association for Gifted Children, and former president of the Granite
Federation of Teachers. He served for four years on the
Executive and Judicial Compensation Commission for Utah.
He has been received Granite School District awards for Outstanding
Administrator, Outstanding Elementary Principal, the Jewel Bindrup
Award for career contributions in Gifted Education, and the EXCEL
Outstanding Teacher recognition.
Paul has been
a Fibromyalgia sufferer for two decades and joined the OFFER Board
in 2004. He currently works with the Education Committee and
helps to provide the monthly education meetings sponsored by OFFER
at the Salt Lake County Complex.
